Journey through the centuries

At Hugenpoet, art is omnipresent. From the family von Fürstenberg's ancestral gallery in the Red Salon and the lobby to modern painting in the Remise and contemporary sculptures in the park, our Schlosshotel forms the perfect backdrop for artworks from various eras.

The von Fürstenberg family's ancestral gallery comprises 17 works, nine of which are exhibited in the lobby and eight more in the Red Salon. The ancestral line goes back to Kaspar von Fürstenberg, born in 1545. The von Fürstenbergs' family history is as impressive as it is moving. We would be very pleased to provide you with a handout outlining the life stories in the context of history.
Discover contemporary art by Lydia Mammes and Jürgen Paas in the Remise. The Cologne artist Mammes works with seemingly monochrome color surfaces that only reveal their secret upon closer inspection. The Essen painter and sculptor Jürgen Paas shows works from his "Lettre" series, colorful acrylic paintings, in the corridors of the Remise.

Exhibition "Metamorphoses" on the occasion of the 70th anniversary

Relief artwork with numerous faces in Schlosshotel Hugenpoet – detailed plastic installation

For "Metamorphoses," we have expanded the sculpture exhibition in the Schlosspark with expressive exhibits in collaboration with the Düsseldorf gallery Bernd A. Lausberg. Galerie Lausberg has curated the works, as in previous joint projects. "Metamorphoses" presents works by Jürgen Knubben, Axel Kreiser, Renate Löbbecke, Herbert Mehler, Faxe Müller, Susanna Neunast, Sven Rünger, Anja Schubert, Hans Schuele, Sonja Edle von Hoeßle, and Rüdiger Seidt. In the castle, "Metamorphoses" shows further works from Herbert Mehler's Goldedition, as well as miniatures and drawings by the artist.

We would like to thank Galerie Lausberg once again for their collaboration and the curation of the anniversary exhibition in the Schlosspark.
